The large U.S. flag was flown June 14, 2019, at the garrison flagpole in observance of Flag Day and the 244th Army birthday at Fort McCoy, Wis.
The flag is only flown on special occasions.
Directorate of Emergency Services personnel oversaw the posting of the flag.
The flag flying also was just a small part of the activities the installation held to observe the Army birthday.
Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.
The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
