We asked Recruit Jonathan Kelley from Platoon 2062, Fox Company, why he took the commitment to enlist in the Marine Corps after six years of prior service with the Air Force and two master’s degrees.
“The goal was to find a branch that had a reputation for being disciplined, for being rigorous, for being challenging and for instilling that pride in the members themselves,” Kelley said. “As far as the Marine Corps, every individual who comes out of the Marine Corps, at least who I have met, are outstanding individuals. They are very proud of what they have done and have confidence that is not superseded by arrogance.” (U.S. Marine Corps story and photos by Lance Cpl. Ryan Hageali)
