GOODFELLOW AIR FORCE BASE, Texas—The 17th Medical Group conducted its change of command ceremony at the event center here, July 8.
The 17th MDG welcomed Col. Lauren Byrd, incoming commander, and thanked Col. Janet Urbanski, outgoing commander, for her service over the past two years.
Col. Andres Nazario, 17th Training Wing commander, presided over the ceremony.
During the event, Urbanski was awarded a Legion of Merit medal by Nazario for her enriching work during her assignment.
The 17th MDG supports the 17th TRW in execution of Air Education and Training Command’s mission.
Divided into two squadrons, the 17th MDG 200-person staff supports a population of students, permanent party personnel, retirees and dependents. The supported services include family health, dental services, public health, student clinic, flight medicine, physical therapy, bioengineering and mental health. Additional services provided include resource management, Tricare operations, patient administration, medical readiness, information management, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging laboratory and logistics.
