    97th Air Mobility Wing

The 97th Air Mobility Wing received two additional KC-46 Pegasus, May 18, 2019, at Altus AFB, Okla. These new aircraft will mark the fourth and fifth KC-46s in the bases inventory. The KC-46 is a military aerial refueling and transport aircraft designed to replace the current KC-135 Stratotanker. The aircraft is capable of carrying 212,299 pounds of fuel and 61,000 pounds of cargo, 10 percent more than the KC-135 can hold. Distinguished visitors of the Altus and community were invited to tour the new aircraft and meet the aircrews shortly after landing. The two additional KC-46s are an important addition to the 97th AMW’s ability to deliver 21st century airpower.
