Joint team investigating civilian casualty allegations in Farah

KABUL, Afghanistan - Coalition forces and Afghan government have received reports on civilian casualties in conjunction with a militant attack on Afghan national security forces in Bala Baluk, Farah.

Operations are ongoing in Farah, but a joint investigation will be conducted to determine exactly what happened.

"We offer our condolences to those affected by today's operations and will immediately investigate the claims to determine what happened," said Col. Greg Julian, U.S. Forces spokesman. "We take the safety of Afghan civilians very seriously and sincerely regret any loss of life."
