    During exercise Agile Spirit 19, 1st Battalion Irish Guardsmen participated in live-fire exercises during Agile Spirit 19 at Orpholo Training Area, Georgia, on August 3, 2019.

    The United Kingdom participated in AgS19 by sending soldiers from the 1st Battalion Irish Guardsmen to participate in training exercises. A small team of snipers part of the Irish Guards Infantry trained with service members from the Marines, Navy, and Army.

    Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, and Irish Guardsmen all had the chance to shoot at long range targets, ranging from 300 meters to approximately 1,000 meters.

    Agile Spirit 2019 is a joint, multinational exercise co-led by the Georgian Defense Forces and U.S. Army Europe. Occurring July 27 through August 9, 2019, the brigade-level exercise incorporates a command post exercise, field training exercise and live-fires. Agile Spirit enhances U.S., Georgian, allied and partner forces' lethality, interoperability and readiness in a realistic training environment. Approximately, 3,300 military personnel from 14 allied and partner nations will participate in this theater security cooperation exercise. Agile Spirit occurs at three training locations in Georgia - Senaki Air Base, Vaziani and Orpholo Training Areas.
