BAGHDAD --As Iraqi citizens continued to stream into polling sites to vote on the landmark Constitutional Referendum, Iraqi Security Forces protected voters against attempted terrorist attacks.

Polling sites reported relatively little violence in the first five hours of voting.

Iraqi Police arrived on the scene of a terrorist attack in west Baghdad at 7:30 a.m. after receiving reports of an improvised explosive device attack. One IP was wounded in the attack.

Around 9:15 a.m., Iraqi Army Soldiers reported a rocket impacted near two polling sites in north-central Baghdad with no casualties or damage.

To safeguard voters, Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army Soldiers quickly responded to maintain a secure environment during the voting period. Coalition Forces continued to maintain their role in perimeter security operations.
