    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fort Smith U.S. Army Recruiting Hosts Breakfast for Local Business Owners

FORT SMITH – Recruiters from the 5th Recruiting Brigade, U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion – Oklahoma City, Army Recruiting Company Fort Smith, Arkansas partner with the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce by hosting a breakfast for local business owners.

Promoting the U.S. Army Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) Program, the breakfast gave the opportunity for leaders to gather and discuss the future of their businesses and possible partnership with U.S. Army and PaYS.

"For years I looked for a way to access these transitioning Soldiers for employment” said Tim Thorne, CEO of ABF Freight (Current PaYS Partner). "Then I found the (U.S. Army) PaYS Program and it gave me that way."

Since 2000 PaYS gained over 600 partners, resulting in the incentive initiative and possible civilian employment of over 2 million soldiers. The program targets partners and guarantees an interview with those partners after qualified applicants pursue a career in those fields.

“It’s important and I want our businesses in Fort Smith to understand what’s being given to you” said Mayor George McGill, Mayor Fort Smith, Arkansas, “These young men and women come back having gone through some of the finest training in the world and you will not have to worry about whether they’re coming to work on time, (or) putting in a full day’s work, because they will be some of your best employees.”

PaYS continues to seek those employers interested in opening their doors and considering employment to transitioning Soldiers. PaYS benefits Soldiers, the Army, participating partners and the Nation.
