MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va.—Marine Corps acquisition professionals gathered to recognize the outstanding performance of its workforce during the Acquisition Excellence Awards Aug. 20, aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia.
Lt. Gen. Eric Smith, commanding general of Marine Corps Combat Development Command and deputy commandant for Combat Development and Integration, was the keynote speaker for the awards ceremony.
“The production engine of the Marine Corps is sitting in this auditorium,” Smith said to the crowd. “I want to say thank you to the winners and everyone here, because what you do is vitally important to the Marine Corps.”
Brig. Gen. A.J. Pasagian, commander of Marine Corps Systems Command, hosted the annual awards ceremony. He thanked the award winners—and the entire workforce—for their teamwork, dedication and perseverance in equipping Marines over the past year.
“I appreciate everybody coming out and supporting these award recipients,” said Pasagian. “From me to all recipients today: thank you for everything you do.”
The event enabled the Corps to recognize acquisition professionals and teams for exhibiting superior leadership and helping the command achieve project goals. The following awards recognized individuals and teams who made significant contributions to MCSC’s mission accomplishment in 2018:
