WHAT: 107th Airmen invite former members of the 107th Tactical Fighter Group who served during the Vietnam era, 1968-1970 to Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station for a 50 year anniversary muster. The event will take place at the Falcon Club on base.
WHEN: Event begins at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14 and concludes with a wing formation at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday September 15, 2019.

Media Opportunities:
Reporters will be able to interview Airmen of the 107th Attack Wing, leadership members and veterans alike.
Still and video imagery opportunities will include a casual ceremony on Saturday evening to include cocktails and a dinner buffet. A wing formation will take place the following Sunday morning at 9:00 am. The group of veterans will proceed to a base tour, accomplish a group photo and have a picnic lunch with current wing members.
BACKGROUND:
The 107th was called to active duty January 1968 in response to the Pueblo Crisis. In June, the 136 Tactical Fighter Squadron assigned to the 107th Tactical Fighter Group, deployed to Tuy Hoa Air Base in the Republic of Vietnam with 400 personnel. The 136th arrived on 15 June following the longest deployment made by an Air National Guard group to date. 20 F-100 Super Sabre fighter jets, flew non-stop to Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, to Guam and onto Tuy Hoa, covering a distance of 11,134 miles.
Those of the 107th that did not deploy to Vietnam were assigned to South Korea. 350 Airmen to Kwang Ju Air Base, 30 to Osan AB, 13 to Suwon AB, 10 to Kunsan AB, and an unknown number to Japan. Some Airmen were deployed stateside in support of the war to Cannon Air Force Base, N.M., Langley AFB, Va., Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz. and Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
In South Vietnam, three 107th Airmen were awarded the Purple Heart, one the Distinguished Flying Cross and 43 received Air Medals. The New York State Medal for Valor, the highest New York State award for heroism in combat, was awarded posthumously to Captain Joseph L’Hullier, who was killed in action while on a combat fighter support mission, becoming the first New York Air National Guardsman to be killed in action since World War II.
By the first of June 1969, all men and women of the 107th had returned home with honor.
