JOINT BASE BALAD, Iraq — The Air Force released the newest master sergeant-selects promotion list, May 14. Overall, the Air Force selected 5,604 technical sergeants for promotion, 34 of whom are assigned to the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing here. The promotees are:

"I was excited and relieved when I found out I made the list," said Tech. Sgt. Adam Montoya, 332nd ECES assistant chief of operations and JBB fire and emergency services. "It was a huge relief to have the stress gone and at the same time the feeling was surreal.
"Studying early was a key factor," added the Questa, N.M., native deployed here from Aviano Air Base, Italy. "I setup a study plan and stuck to it. My family was very supportive and understanding in giving me the time I needed to study. I was also fortunate enough to have supervisors who took a sincere interest in my career progression and set me on the path for success.
Sgt. Montoya is excited about earning a selection for promotion while deployed.
"To me, this promotion is especially special since I was promoted at a deployed location doing what I love to do," Sgt. Montoya concluded.
