Service members at Fort McCoy, Wis., for training in Combat Support Training Exercise 86-19-04 conducted various operations Aug. 23, 2019, at the installation.
The exercise coincided with other exercises taking place on post in August 2019, such as Global Medic and Patriot Warrior.
The 86th held the exercise as part of the U.S. Army Reserve commanding general’s Combat Support Training Program (CSTP).
Thousands of service members with the Army as well as other military services and foreign militaries are participating in the multinational exercise.
CSTX 86-19-04 was the second of two CSTXs by the 86th in 2019. According to the 84th Training Command, CSTP exercises are large-scale training exercises where units experience tactical training scenarios specifically designed to replicate real-world missions.
Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.
The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
