NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2019) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District announces that Fishing Creek Campground and boat launching ramp at Lake Cumberland in Somerset, Ky., are closing Monday, Sept. 30, 2019 for road repairs and repaving.
“The launching ramp is reopening as soon as the work is completed,” said Park Ranger Judy Daulton.
While the boat ramp at Fishing Creek Campground is under repair at 1598 E. Highway 1248, Daulton encourages boaters to utilize boat ramps located at Lee’s Ford Marina, Waitsboro Recreation Area and Burnside Island.
The Corps of Engineers staff members at Lake Cumberland are aware of the inconvenience, but are doing their best to improve this lake access point for boaters and the roadway for campers.
The public can call the Lake Cumberland Resource Manager’s Office at 606-679-6337 for more information on the closure.
