Beginning Oct. 1, patients who are not assigned to a provider at a Military Treatment Facility will not be eligible to receive medications that are not on the Department of Defense Tricare formulary list.
Additionally, the pharmacy will not fill non-formulary medications from providers outside of the base MTF unless the beneficiary has been referred to that provider.
If Prior Authorization Criteria is met, these medications may still be filled at participating retail pharmacies or through Express Scripts. Please note, beneficiaries will be required to pay copays through Express Scripts.
