October 3rd, Fruchthalle, Kaiserslautern. The Kaiserslautern Military Community celebrated another year of collaboration, support and friendship with the 2019 German American Friendship Concert. A full house came to enjoy a program featuring musicians from both the US Army Europe Band and Chorus and the Heeresmusikkorps Koblenz with both commanders taking turns conducting a wide variety of musical selections. The US Army Europe Soldiers' Chorus took the stage for the second half and entertained with a high-energy choreographed set going back to the hits of Motown and Elvis Presley. The biggest applause was reserved when the singers sang a hit German rock song, "Tage Wie Diese" by Die Toten Hosen in the original German. For an encore finale, Maj. Randall Bartel conducted a German march while Capt. Wolfgang Dietrich conducted "The Stars and Stripes Forever," an act meant to symbolize the way in which music is a common language able to bring communities together.
