MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. -- U.S. Air Force Airmen enrolled in Airman Leadership School Class 20-1 exercised at the campus track on a foggy Monday morning, October 28, at the Lankford enlisted professional military education center, just outside Knoxville, Tennessee.

The class of 87 Airmen includes three international students from Ghana, Uganda, and Sierra Leone. They began on week two of their five-week studies required to become noncommissioned officers.

During those weeks, students receive professional-level preparation to take on increased responsibility and the role of an NCO. The course includes peer assessments, group breakouts, critical thinking, and the profession of arms, among other studies.
