    102nd Intelligence Wing

There will be a formal change of command ceremony of the 102nd Intelligence Wing here, in building 158 on Sunday, November 3 at 2:30 p.m.

Col. David V. McNulty will become the commander of the 102nd Intelligence Wing, succeeding Col. Virginia I. Gaglio, who has served as commander since Jun. 2016.

Colonel McNulty earned his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps at Boston University in 1993. He is a career intelligence officer who began his service in the active duty Air Force and transitioned into the Air Reserve Component in 2001, where he served first in the District of Columbia Air National Guard and later the Massachusetts Air National Guard. He has served in a variety of operations support and leadership positions in both flying squadrons and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance units.

In his current assignment as vice commander, McNulty is responsible for the activities of more than 1,200 military and civilian personnel ready to respond to domestic emergencies in the Commonwealth while training and maintaining preparedness to accomplish wartime missions of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations, cryptologic intelligence, cyber engineering and installation support, and expeditionary combat support.

McNulty has deployed around the world in support of contingency operations in Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. During his career, he has commanded at the squadron and group levels, most notably the 102nd Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group, part of the Distributed Common Ground System enterprise. He is a highly decorated officer having been awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Air Medal with oak leaf cluster and the Aerial Achievement Medal.
