The I.G. Brown Training and Education Center in East Tennessee hosted a visit from U.S. Air Force leaders assigned to the Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education, November 5, to include the Commander, Col. Kathryn A. Brown and her staff.
TEC was among other enlisted professional military education sites that Barnes Center staff visited from their location at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama to improve their understanding of classrooms, faculty, staff, and operations.
The group attended morning reveille with more than 330 students attending NCO Academy and Airman Leadership School at TEC’s Chief Master Sergeant Paul H. Lankford EPME Center.
“The students performed reveille flawless, it was perfect,” Chief Master Sgt. Stephen Durrance, the Lankford Center commandant, said.
Barnes Center leaders also received briefings, toured the campus on McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base as well as had lunch with students and faculty.
Chief Durrance said that Lankford Center maintains a close relationship with the Barnes Center. It receives its EPME curriculum from the Barnes Center as well as its oversite for Community College of the Air Force accreditation. The Barnes Center assigns 15 regular Air Force Airmen to the Lankford Center faculty, which ensures a total force campus of active duty, National Guard, and Reserve Command.
