The Joint Multinational Readiness Center’s Mustang Team took part in the city of Lupburg‘s ceremony recognizing Volkstrauertag, or National Day of Mourning Nov. 16, 2019. It was a night to commemorate fallen soldiers that belonged to the Lupburg community. The event started with a small parade that ended at the Lupburg Church. The Church hosted a special service that evening, following the service the Lupburg mayor, Manfred Hauser, gave opening remarks at the Lupburg War Memorial. Lt. Col. John Welch from the Mustang team also gave his remarks at the ceremony.
Whether its summer fest or memorials, we want to spend time with our local community, says Welch. We have the great fortune of partnering with the city of Lupburg.
The ceremony ended with wreath-laying and playing of both German and American national anthem.
