Brig. Gen. Frank H. Stokes assumed command of the Air National Guard Readiness Center during a change of command ceremony at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland, Nov. 15.
Stokes commissioned into the U.S. Air Force as a graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Minnesota in 1983. Stokes has more than 36 years of military experience and served as a command pilot and instructor pilot in the F-15 Eagle and F-16 Fighting Falcon. In his previous leadership role, Stokes was the Director of Plans, Programs, and Requirements at the ANGRC.
“I am excited for the challenge and honored to serve you in this new role,” said Stokes. “Together, we have the opportunity to enhance our service to our territories, states and nation. Thanks for your leadership, service and care for our Airmen.”
Stokes assumed command from Maj. Gen. Steven S. Nordhaus, outgoing ANGRC commander.
“Serving you over the past two years has been a privilege and an honor,” said Nordhaus. “Thank you for reaching new heights and maximizing readiness, meeting mission tasks and taking care of our most valuable asset…our Airmen!”
The Airmen of the ANGRC provide resources, policy oversight and guidance to ensure combat and domestic operational readiness for the Air National Guard’s 90 wings.
