Next week may be all about the big Thanksgiving turkey dinner, but this week at the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia, it was all about the chili.
During the annual chili cook-off, held Nov. 20, 2019, 12 members of the Troop Support workforce battled it out for the bragging rights to the best chili. The event was organized as an awareness event for the Combined Federal Campaign.
Chris Mullen, a logistics systems analyst, took first prize for his chili made with deer meat. John Lewis, a data architect in the Medical supply chain, came in second place for his chili that was made with a plant-based meat substitute. Susan Gallagher, a tailored vendor logistics specialist in the Subsistence supply chain, took third place with her game day chili made with beef.
The three judges for the cook-off were Army Maj. Lionel Macklin, program manager for combat feeding in Subsistence; Navy Cmdr. Scott Long, chief of the readiness division; and John Sheehan, director of customer operations for Subsistence and CFC chairperson.
