PFC Caleb Minor is currently deployed in support of Atlantic Resolve and is a Mass Communications Specialist with the 5th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment. Since graduating the DINFOS Basic Public Affairs Specialist Course on Nov. 7, 2018, Minor has uploaded 52 videos, 171 images, and 11 print stories, which have been picked up by various news outlets, such as Army Times, Stars and Stripes, Business Insider, and the official U.S. Army website.
While deployed, PFC Minor has been on missions in over 4 countries, including Poland, Latvia, Ukraine, Netherlands, and Germany, which allowed him to work with foreign militaries and open up new opportunities. During these missions he provided content creation capabilities for large-scale, high visibility multinational exercises, such as Resolute Castle 19, Rapid Trident 2019, and the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division Port Operations. PFC Minor was awarded the Army Achievement Medal while supporting the First Infantry Division (Forward), in Poznan, Poland, and recently received the Gold German Armed Forces Badge (Schützenschnur) for Weapons Proficiency.
Before the military, PFC Minor was working towards a bachelor's degree in Music Production from McNally Smith College of Music. He is currently applying to colleges in order to finish his degree upon redeployment.
At 20 years old, PFC Minor joined the Army to follow a long history of his ancestors serving. He viewed it as a way to carry forth his family legacy. He graduated Belle Fourche High School, and enrolled at Mcnally Smith College of Music. After a semester of college, PFC Minor left McNally Smith College of Music and enlisted in the U.S. Army.
Within the next five years, PFC Minor plans on continuing his education to help him obtain his bachelor’s degree in music production, and hopes to become a noncommissioned officer so he can mentor Soldiers in public affairs.
