The Heavy Airlift Wing is part of the Strategic Airlift Capability, a multinational initiative that provides participating nations access to military airlift capabilities. A C-17 Globemaster III, assigned to the HAW, Pápa Air Base, Hungary, delivered a Boom Operator Weapon System Trainer to RAF Mildenhall, England, Jan. 11, 2020. The BOWST trains boom operators for real-world operations while saving money and flying hours. It also allows instructors to evaluate students in a variety of scenarios while receiving real-time information on the student's progress, in a safe environment.
