    807th Medical Command (Deployment Support)

Salt Lake City – 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support) senior leaders met with local statesmen and other military representatives at the annual ‘Meet the Military’ event at the Utah State Capitol Building to discuss the relevance of the command in Army Medicine and the significance of being headquartered at Fort Douglas, Salt Lake City, January 28, 2020.

During this event the Chief of Staff, Col. Joel Grant, and the Command Chief Warrant Officer, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Todd Wilkerson, engaged Mr. Peter Jenks, District Director for the Office of Congressman Rob Bishop, and the installation's State Senator Derek Kitchen, among numerous other attendees.

“The 807th MC(DS) is the Army Reserve's largest Medical Command, managing deployable medical units from Ohio to California,” said Grant, “Our command is comprised of more than 10,000 soldiers and civilians.”

Grant emphasized the command provides general medical, surgical, dental, ambulance, behavioral health, preventive medicine, and veterinary support to military and civilian populations.

He also discussed ‘Immediate Response’, higher education scholarships available through the command such as the Minuteman Scholarship, and opportunities to work with local leaders, communities, and state entities in developing strong relationships and mutually beneficial environments.

Wilkerson took the opportunity to speak with the 88th Readiness Division Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Jody Daniels, about the Medical Equipment Concentration Site (MECS), located in Ogden, Utah.

“The MECS serves as a point for service and calibration on medical equipment for units and provides an opportunity for biomedical equipment specialists to hone their skills
    before deployment,” said Wilkerson.

In the event of a local, natural, or man-made disaster, the 807th MC(DS) is ready to assist in crisis response and provide ‘Immediate Response’ support if needed.
