1st Infantry Division Forward hosted a soldier of the month board in Poznan, Poland, on February 13, 2020.
The board recognizes those soldiers that have performed their duties beyond expectations on base here.
Included among the four board members was U.S. Army 1st Sgt. Craig Carrol, the 1st Sgt. of 1 ID (FWD).
“I am proud to be able to offer the soldier of the month award to our soldiers stationed here,” said Carroll. “It helps foster friendly competition between our soldiers, in addition to acknowledging those soldiers who have gone above and beyond in their duties.”
The board members ask the candidates a variety of questions including, but not limited to: Army customs, courtesies, regulations and history.
Only one soldier is presented the award per month.
The winner of the February soldier of the month award is Spc. Emmanuel Benson, tactical power generation specialist with 1 ID (FWD).
