ABU GHRAIB, Iraq -- Task Force Baghdad Soldiers assisted the Iraqi Army during a handout of food supplies in Abu Ghraib Nov. 2.
Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division provided site security and outer cordons while Iraqi Army Soldiers from 3rd Battalion, 3rd Iraqi Army Brigade took control of the humanitarian mission.
At four distribution points in the Abu Ghraib district, the Iraqi troops handed out enough beef, rice and sugar to feed about 500 families.
"The day was a real success," said Sgt. 1st Class David Larson, 2nd Bn., 22nd Inf. Reg. "It was great to see the Iraqi Army Soldiers handling the operation so well for their people, and to see the excitement of those who came for the help."
