HOHENFELS, Germany- Brig. Gen. Lisa Doumont, Commanding General of Medical Readiness and Training Command, and Command Sgt. Maj. Donald Marr, Battalion Command Sgt. Maj., came to JMRC on Feb. 24, 2020 where they were briefed on the training and medical readiness at the Hohenfels Training Area. The briefing was to discuss exercise training perspectives. This was done to see if their goals aligned with those of Medical Readiness and Training Command.

Following the briefs, several Soldiers were presented with commanders coins as a means to reward soldiers who work hard and went above the call of duty. U.S. Army Capt. Todd Thom, Hohenfels Medical Clinic, was recognized for his contribution to ensuring the readiness of JMRC through planning and execution of all Soldier Readiness Process events. He planned and executed SRP events, some with minimal warning, to ensure the readiness of the Observer Coach/Trainer teams.

Spc. Paulo Mina, assigned to the Dental Clinic, was recognized for his hard work when he stepped up and taken over sterilization after the loss of a GS employee. Maj. Lond stated that Mina is hard worker and a true servant leader.

“Spc. Mina helps out where he can because it’s the right thing and not because he wants the recognition,” said Maj. Lond

Sgt. Christian Colonortiz, assigned to the Veterinary treatment Facility, arrived a little more than a year ago, has worked tirelessly to improve the Veterinary safety program which has been a great amount of heavy lifting, according to his supervisor Capt. Cole.

“Despite the small number working in the Treatment Facility, the food mission is enormous and Colonortiz has organized everything to help meet the competing demands of supporting Garmisch, Black Sea Area of Operations and Hohenfels- He has had an enormous learning curve and has proved himself a strong asset,” Capt. Cole

Although the briefings were short a lot of valuable information was given and at the end soldiers were rewarded for their hard work.
