PORTSMOUTH, Va. (Mar. 3, 2020) Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) staff members celebrate the 149th Navy Medical Corps birthday on Mar. 3. As the Navy Medical Corps celebrates its 149th birthday, active duty and reserve physicians who comprise the Navy Medical Corps demonstrate an exceptional commitment to those who have pledged their lives to defend their country.
Cmdr. L.J Kuskowski, chair of NMCP's Medical Executive Committee (MEC), read the birthday letter from Rear Adm. James Hancock, Chief Navy Medical Corps.
“It is my honor to represent you, the nearly 4,300 physicians on active duty and in the reserves on the occasion of our 149th birthday,” Kuskowski read. “Let us continue to reflect on our respected Corps, and our noble profession that has served the Navy, Marine Corps, and Joint Commands around the globe for 149 years.”
