    Story by Capt. Leonard Roy

    321st Sustainment Brigade

AGADIR, MOROCCO – The 321st Sustainment Brigade is currently supporting African Lion 20. U.S. Army Africa participates regularly in exercises and training events involving small teams and robust units in Africa to strengthen partner networks and partner capacity, while providing opportunity to build the Army’s readiness. It is committed to being the partner of choice in Africa.

The brigade is led by Col. James Carmichael and Command Sgt. Maj. James Wheeler. During African Lion 20, soldiers will fulfill their Annual Training requirements through sustainment operations. “This is an excellent training opportunity for our unit and its Soldiers,” Carmichael said during the operations welcoming brief. “We are building relationships that enhance the unit’s capabilities as well as our partners. For many of our soldiers, this is their first time overseas, so providing them this training opportunity builds morale and readiness now and in the future.”

At the briefing Wheeler said, “Our soldiers are excited to train in Morocco. This opportunity prepares our men and women to be some of the best trained and equipped soldiers in the Army Reserve.”

The 321st Sustainment Brigade is headquartered near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The brigade is an Army Reserve unit that provides essential logistical support and base support for United States Army Africa and U.S. Africa Command.
