    RHINE ORDNANCE BARRACKS, Kaiserslautern – The garrison’s fledgling video production capability didn’t take long to reap huge dividends on the investment of approximately $10K last fall for cameras, lighting, software and equipment for a make-shift studio in the basement of Bldg. 162 here.

    The information products created for community messaging by garrison deputy public affairs officer Jason Tudor earned him six individual 2019 Installation Management Command Communication Competition awards – three first place showings and three second place awards across the video categories.

    “I’m proud of Jason and our PA team for consistently dominating the information battle space, whether video, print or social media – their products are seen, shared and praised at the highest levels of Army leadership,” said USAG RP Commander Col. Jason T. Edwards. “Jason and the team have been at the forefront of messaging the quality-of-life priorities IMCOM is responsible for, from housing and child care, to spouse employment and PCS moves.

    “Even more impressive is the fact that we only received our video equipment and set up our studio in October,” Edwards continued, “so the amount of quality products Jason produced for our community during the last quarter of the year truly stands out.”

    Tudor earned honors for his work in the following broadcast categories:
    - Long-Form Production for Baumholder’s “Let’s Talk Housing;”
    - Short-Form Production for the inclement weather safety video “Get Snowtified;”
    - Video Spot for cyber awareness;
    - Video Series about the child development centers, which was picked up by IMCOM and used Army-wide;
    - Video Story about firefighters returning from a deployment to Italy; and
    - Non-Narrative Story about a barracks facility manager being recognized for her efforts.

    IMCOM Commanding General Lt. Gen. Douglas M. Gabram in a congratulatory message to the awards winners said, “I know that all of you are working hard as part of an integrated garrison team to be on the offense in telling the good stories of the progress we are making to improve the quality of life for Soldiers and their families. What you do is vital to our success and the readiness of our Army.”

    IMCOM-Europe Director Tommy Mize added: “Really incredible job by our great PAO Team of Teams. Really remarkable accomplishment.”

    “I'm fortunate to work with amazing pros who allow me to exercise one facet of my PA skills to this extent,” said Tudor. “Dr. (Kevin) Griess (Deputy Garrison Commander) has been generous and supportive with this and we do everything we can do meet his and the commander's needs with video and audio products to support our communications work for the garrison.”

    This year’s communications competition, known as the Keith L. Ware Awards, was IMCOM’s first as a major subordinate command of Army Materiel Command. The winners now move on to compete in AMC’s David G. Harris Public Affairs Competition, with those winners advancing to the Army level competition.
