    Story by Maj. John Heil

    332nd Medical Brigade

NASHVILLE, Tenn — After serving more than 40 years in the military both as a civilian serviceman, Chief Warrant 4 Larry Stacey was awarded the Legion of Merit, July 19, at the Army Reserve center in Nashville, Tenn.

Stacey began his military career as an aviation boatswain's mate in March 1968. He spent three years on active duty in the Navy during the Vietnam era and transferred to the Naval Reserve in December 1971.

In May 1973 Stacey transferred to the Tennessee Army National Guard until December 1977, when he transferred to the Army Reserve. Stacey served in various enlisted capacities, including administrative specialist before receiving his commission as a warrant officer.

During his tenure, Stacey served both as a personnel warrant and food service advisor. He is credited for helping two of his unit food service programs, 75th Combat Support Hospital, Tuscaloosa, Ala., and the 320th Combat Support Hospital, formerly the 312th Field Hospital, Greensboro, N.C., getting the Phillip A. Connelly Award for food service excellence. This award, considered prestigious, put these two units a step above all other food capable units.

Stacey, from the Nashville area, served with the 332nd Medical Brigade as a food service advisor during his last years and officially retired from the Army Reserve, March 31.
