    97th Air Mobility Wing

The 97th Air Mobility Wing invited STARBASE students from across Oklahoma to learn about the career possibilities in the military and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) career fields, March 12, 2020, at Altus Air Force Base, Okla. During their visit, students received the opportunity to interact and meet military professionals at a career fair and tour all three airframes assigned to the base: the C-17 Globemaster III, KC-135 Stratotanker and KC-46A Pegasus. The students concluded their visit with a live demonstration of the 97th Security Forces Military Working Dog team. The STARBASE program is a DoD youth program with a mission to raise interest and knowledge of skills in STEM, aiming to provide highly educated and skilled professionals in the workforce. Approximately 130 students and staff members from eight schools across the state received the opportunity to expand their knowledge on STEM and focused on career opportunities the Air Force has to offer.
