FARGO, N.D. — The 119th Wing, N.D. Air National Guard will welcome 26 Airmen returning home from Iraq tomorrow. The Airmen are members of the 119th Wing Security Forces Squadron who deployed to Kirkuk Air Base in February 2009.
They will fly into Hector International Airport in Fargo, N.D., on two flights. Twenty of the Airmen will fly in at 12:43 p.m. tomorrow on Northwest Airlines flight #3655, and the remaining six will return at 3:36 p.m. tomorrow on Northwest Airlines flight #1410.
The Airmen were responsible for the protection of base personnel and resources by providing security and law enforcement at the base. They were tasked with searching local personnel and vehicles, maintaining perimeter security and conducting police services on the base.
The Airmen also performed missions outside of the base to strengthen the security of the base perimeter, and they assisted explosive ordinance disposal personnel with munitions disposal.
The public is invited to show their appreciation by cheering home the Airmen at the airport.
