Today at the Cherry Point Base Chapel, a memorial service was held for Lance Cpl. Devon Foreman, who was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron (H&HS) at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina. Foreman’s family was in attendance as well as his core leadership, the leaders of H&HS and MCAS Cherry Point, and numerous friends and colleagues who showed up to recount fond memories they had with Foreman and grieve his loss.
“We are deeply saddened with the loss of Lance Cpl. Devon Foreman. He was an active volunteer, a leader among his peers, and possessed all of the qualities of an outstanding noncommissioned officer,” said Lt. Col. Patrick Lindstrom, executive officer of MCAS Cherry Point. “Lance Cpl. Foreman represented the future of the Marine Corps, and his tragic loss is deeply felt by those Marines he worked with daily. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this very difficult time.”
Everyone in attendance was socially distanced by one row and was required to wear a mask unless speaking at the podium. Hand sanitizer and face masks were also made available.
