TAL AFAR, Iraq " Coalition Forces with the aid of the Iraqi workers distributed several truckloads of blankets to the local residents here, Nov. 13, 2005.

With Iraqi soldiers and the Iraqi police forces spearheading the campaign and elements of the 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, and the 401st Civil Affairs Battalion supporting them, several thousand blankets were given to schools and people in need.

Temperatures in the region are beginning to drop as the onset of winter arrives bringing a need for blankets.

Trucks moved through the city streets giving the blankets to people who needed them.

The Iraqi police set up a distribution point at one of the schools here, where several hundred residents lined up to receive a blanket.

Distributing blankets is part of an effort by Coalition Forces to give aid to the less fortunate people living here.
