KEESLER AIR FORCE BASE, Miss. --
As part of ongoing COVID-19 mitigation efforts, the 403rd Wing is having a virtual Unit Training Assembly this month for Airmen who do not have in person appointments or readiness requirements.

The August UTA was originally scheduled for 7-9, but the 7th is now optional.

Wing Reserve Citizen Airmen should coordinate with their supervisors and commanders to inquire about telework options or to reschedule or excuse the UTA. And, Airmen who live in the local area may come in to work the UTA, pending supervisor or commander approval.

“Commanders have maximum flexibility to ensure Airmen get a good year towards their retirement. The goal is to work our way back to normal operations, but we are not there yet and we must continue to implement measures to ensure the health and safety of our community and workforce,” said Col. Jeffrey A. Van Dootingh, 403rd Wing commander. “Our focus remains on protecting the American people, our Airmen, and their families while maintaining mission readiness.”

For Airmen who opt to telework, options include the Secretary of Defense directed Operations Security courses for all Department of Defense personnel. There are four mandatory courses located at: https://securityawareness.usalearning.gov/2020-dod-security-stand-down/index.html. Other options are the eLearning CPI Greenbelt training online and Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education, which is available for master to chief master sergeants. And don’t forget about readiness; wing members can complete Total Force Awareness Training courses found in the Advanced Distributed Learning Service or Joint Knowledge Online websites, which require a username and password or a common access card to login.

Members coming from out-of-town will be placed in lodging off-base and will be able to access and exit the base through the White Avenue and Pass Road gates.

The Azalea Dining facility will be open for take-out only with brunch from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., lunch options starting at 10:30 a.m., and dinner hours from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

For any Airman wishing to use Blake Fitness Center, admittance is by appointment only and the hours are 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The Dragon and Triangle fitness centers are off-limits.

The Base Exchange and Commissary are reserved for Airmen in Training on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Airmen are reminded that Keesler is currently in Health Protection (HPCON) Charlie.

Per Department of Defense guidance, face coverings are required when individuals cannot maintain six feet of physical distance in public areas or work centers. Anyone without a mask is encouraged to contact their supervisor and will be provided one.
