    1st Medical Brigade

IRAQ - It was indeed a moment for joy as two siblings met in Iraq after being apart for nearly 1 1/2 years. Spc. Stephen S. Gula and Pfc. Rebecca E. Gula were born and raised in Brookville, Pa. They are loved and supported by their parents, Sheila K. Gula, a nurse, and John Gula, U.S. Army retired, of Reynoldsville, Pa. Both Stephen and Rebecca are graduates of the Brookville Area High School.

Stephen S. Gula is 20 years old and enjoys playing football, running, weight lifting and watching NASCAR. He is an infantryman currently attached to the 82nd Airborne Division, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, A Company 2-505, and has been deployed for over nine months. He is currently going to school for his fitness trainer certification along with fitness in nutrition and fitness in rehabilitation certifications. Pfc. Rebecca E. Gula is 19 and enjoys playing basketball and watching both wrestling and football. She is currently a valiant member of Task Force 1st Medical Brigade in the Medical Regulating Office. She has aspirations to become a Children's Social Worker. Their younger sister Abigail, 9, is in fourth-grade and has aspirations to marry Zack Efron from High School Musical.

"We both appreciate the Task Force 1st Medical Brigade chain of command for letting us see each other for even a short time. It was a pleasant surprise to see each other after about a year and a half" said Rebecca Gula. Stephen Gula is on his way home for a couple of weeks, and is planning to spend time with the family and his girlfriend. While visiting, he plans to meet with Jeff Gordon during an autograph session in Ohio.

"Our parents are very proud of both of us and support us in everything we do" said Stephen Gula.
