    919th Special Operations Wing

DUKE FIELD, Fla. -- Chief Master Sgt. Christina L. Bicknell, 919th Special Operations Mission Support Group superintendent, assumed her tour of the 919th Special Operations Security Forces Squadron was just part of orientation after becoming the new group superintendent. Little did she know, there was a surprise waiting for her outside after her tour.
On October 3, 2020 the 919th Special Operations Wing First Sergeant Council presented Bicknell with an Air Force Reserve Command Order of the Diamond induction certificate. Bicknell was the 919th Special Operations Communications Squadron first sergeant and later became the 919th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron first sergeant. She spent one year as the 919th SOW First Sergeant Council president, won 10th Air Force First Sergeant of the Year once and 919th SOW First Sergeant of the Year twice during her tenure.

“She is definitely a first sergeant’s, first sergeant,” said Chief Master Sgt. Peter Webb, 919th SOW command chief. “She is driven by developing and taking care of Airmen.”

Inductees to the Order of the Diamond are nominated by their first sergeant peers and approved by the first sergeant functional manager at AFRC. The Order of the Diamond distinguishes those selected as “diamonds among diamonds”. It recognizes diligence and faithful service that stands as a testament of their dedication to the enlisted corps.

“The first Sergeants have been a wonderful team and family for me,” said Bicknell during the ceremony. “This has been a wonderful surprise for a Saturday UTA for sure.”
