State-wide day of Corona compliance inspections on Jan. 28, 2021

MAINZ - Due to the ongoing Corona pandemic, a state-wide day of inspections will take place on Jan. 28, 2021 to strengthen the monitoring of the current Corona rules in Rheinland-Pfalz.
Since the beginning of the Corona pandemic, police have been assisting the municipal enforcement services in monitoring compliance with the prohibitions and restrictions in the context of enforcement or administrative assistance and in urgent jurisdiction.
The Mainz Police Presidium is working closely with the authorities and will also participate in the nationwide day of checks. In this case, the Mainz police presidium is supported by officers of the “Bereitschaftspolizei”.
Police controls include monitoring of general Corona rules such as keeping the minimum distance to others and to check if masks are worn in specific locations. The new obligation to wear a medical mask (surgery mask or FFP2 mask) will also be part of the controls in shops and public transportation, among other things. Regional regulations, such as night curfews that are in effect in some municipalities, will also be monitored. In addition, another focus of the police control measures will be the monitoring of popular excursion destinations.
The state-wide day of corona compliance checks is intended to once again focus on the importance of complying with the rules for the protection of others.
