U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Christopher K. Anders joined the 181st Intelligence Wing in 2001 as an F-16 Fighting Falcon engine mechanic and then transitioned to cyber transport around 2008.
Currently, his job is client systems.
“I manage the client systems technicians for 181st Intelligence Support Squadron,” said Anders. “I provide mission critical voice, data, and video services for four distinct classified domains, which means I work on computers.”
Master Sgt. Anders loves his job even though it presents challenges.
“The job is very challenging due to technology continuously advancing, said Anders. “It is a good feeling to fix someone's workstation and leave them happier than when I got there.”
During Anders' career, he has had multiple jobs, but one thing remained constant: the people and the great experiences.
“The people I work with are great,” said Anders. “I stay in the unit because of the unique experiences while making good money.”
For the past two years, Anders has also been the unit training manager for the squadron as an additional duty, recently receiving the Unit Training Manager of the Year award.
From the beginning of Anders' career to now, he has strived to be an outstanding Airman.
“Twenty years goes fast, so make the best of it,” said Anders.
