CAMP STRYKER, Iraq — The "Barkin' Dogs" 101st Financial Management Detachment from West Newton, Mass., has started the renovations of their expanded office.
Members of the 808 Engineers, an Army Reserve unit, lent a helping hand enhancing the office space by expanding the available Customer Service area. The Engineers enclosed the deck in order for the 101St FMD to move their Customer Service area. When the office is completed the 101st FMD will have the needed space to accommodate the 13,000 Soldiers on Camp Stryker.
The expanded office will have a seating area so Soldiers can take a break as they wait to be assisted. The new expansion will have American Forces Network, air-conditioning and cold water and beverages.
With new expansion comes a new name, Customer Service will now be called the Customer Service Section. The CSS non-commissioned officer in charge, Cpl. Steven Gould of Framingham, Mass., thought this would be a good fit for the newly renovated area.
The 101st FMD's hats go off to all the members of the 808 Engineers, because without them this could not be possible. The members of the 808 Engineers came in early and stayed late to help limit the disruption to daily business and allowed the 101st to continue serving customers. They have accommodated the 101st FMD's every need with a smile and got the job done with no complaints.
The 101st FMD would like to also thank all the members of the Mayor's Cell at Camp Stryker. They assisted by donating material and by giving the 101st FMD the blessing to start the renovations.
