Airman First Class Naomi Lynn, 150th Special Operations Wing, is the spotlight Airman for March. “I chose to be a personnelist because I’m an office rat. I love being behind the scenes to make things run smoothly,” she said.
Lynn joined the New Mexico Air National Guard because, “I was at a crossroad in life and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do career-wise. I only knew that I wanted something more rewarding and fulfilling. I wanted to be a part of something greater than myself.”
Lynn was also motivated to join because, “My husband was in the Army National Guard for six years and made the switch to the NMANG three years ago. He loved it and said how he felt like it was a family. When I decided that I wanted to join the military, he pointed me in the direction. I met Staff Sgt. Baca and the rest is history.” Lynn isn’t the only one that has served in the military in her family; her older brother served in the Air Force and second oldest in the Marines.
Since Lynn has been back from technical school in mid-November, she has kept busy. She has been on orders, assisting in setting up COVID-19 testing sites in Albuquerque and Los Lunas. She has also been able to deliver vaccines across the state, all while still accomplishing her everyday duties.
“The thing I like most about drill weekends is seeing such a diverse group of people come together to make our wing is successful,” Lynn said. “A wing needs a personnelist to make sure the things no one wants to do get done. We are the first ones in and the last ones out. I also love that I get to network with everyone.”
