    341st Missile Wing

341st Missile Maintenance Squadron missile handler technicians are responsible for the safe and reliable transportation of the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile stage-one booster.

The stage-one booster is the bottom component of the missile, largely consisting of fuel, making it the heaviest component of the entire missile.

The MHT team regularly completes missile roll transfers, which moves a booster returning from the missile field into a vehicle in the handling facility so routine maintenance can take place.

Before the roll transfer occurs, safety checks and inspections take place. MHTs use precise measurements and balancing before the approximately 200,000 pound booster is rolled from one vehicle to another.

Quality assurance inspectors routinely verify MHT’s ability to execute their no-fail mission, ensuring Malmstrom’s arsenal of ICBMs remain safe, secure, reliable and effective, with the ability to provide global nuclear deterrence, anytime, anywhere!
