Press release: State capital Mainz issues new general decree
Today, Sunday, 25 April 2021, the state capital Mainz published a new general decree with measures to protect the population against coronavirus infections, which amendments to the existing measures of the Federal Emergency Brake and the 19th Corona Control Ordinance (19th CoBeLVO):

    Mask obligation:

In the pedestrian areas of the downtown area, as well as on the station forecourt, masks are still mandatory on all days except Sundays and public holidays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The duration of the mask obligation on the banks of the Rhein River is extended by one hour. It applies to the entire bank from the railway bridge (south bridge) at the Victor-Hugo-Ufer to the rotary bridge at the customs port at the end of Taunusstraße in the period from 12.00 to 22.00 on all days. With the time extension, it will be adapted to the curfew imposed in the Federal Emergency Brake, which starts at 10 p.m. The corresponding signs will be adjusted in the next few days.

A detailed overview map of the affected areas can be found in a PDF document (on the city’s press release website) and under www.mainz.de/corona-massnahmen.

Sale of alcoholic beverages: street sales of open alcoholic beverages remain prohibited.

The new general decree will be published today in the city’s Amtsblatt and will enter into force at midnight on Monday, Apr. 26, 2021. The general decree will initially apply until the expiry of May 23, 2021.

In addition, due to the incidence of more than 165, all regulations of the Federal Emergency Brake and the 19th CoBeLVO of the state apply.

The administrative staff of the state capital Mainz will continue to monitor the development of the coronavirus infections continuously and will adapt the measures accordingly. The administrative staff shall meet at close intervals.
