Chisinau, Moldova – Maj. Gen David Tabor met with the Moldovan Chief of Defense, Brig. Gen. Igor Gorgan, and the Moldovan Special Operations Forces Commander, Lt. Col. Ion Ojog, at the Moldovan Ministry of Defense on Monday April 26, 2021 to discuss training opportunities in this important region
The leaders discussed several issues centered-upon enhancing interoperability, increasing cohesion and improving Special Operations Forces skills to best prepare for crisis and the special relationship between the Moldova and the U.S.
In addition, the leaders reiterated their commitment to enhancing Moldova’s special forces capacity to meet emergent threats while building on an already strong foundation of trust and mutual respect. SOCEUR remains uniquely postured to work with our European allies and partners to counter malign influence, rapidly respond to crisis and, if necessary, defeat aggression.
