The National Guard Bureau has named the 184th Logistics Readiness Squadron as the 2018 Air National Guard LRS Squadron of the Year for an non-flying unit. The 184th Emergency Management Flight, Civil Engineer Squadron, was also designated as the 2019 Air National Guard Emergency Management Flight of the Year.
The Air National Guard LRS Squadron of the Year selection was based on mission accomplishment, how well a unit utilized available resources, and improvements made to the quality of life for both Airmen and the surrounding community. This is the second year in a row the 184th LRS has won this highly competitive national award.
The Air National Guard Emergency Management Flight of the Year is named the Riemer Award. This prestigious award, created in 1994, honors the lifetime accomplishments of retired Col. Frederick J. Riemer. The award recognizes the EM flight that best demonstrates exemplary performance in support of the readiness and installation of EM missions. The 184th CES/EM will now compete against Air Force active duty and Reserve EM winners for the overall Air Force award.
