Today we have Missouri Air National Guard (MOANG) Staff Sgt. Kim Driskell "In Focus." Driskell is a structures journeyman assigned to the 139th Civil Engineer Squadron, currently working in support of state and local health officials to fight COVID-19.
This is Driskell’s second activation for COVID relief efforts. Last summer, she was activated to assist with food packing and distribution in St. Joseph as part of a food bank mission. This year, she is assisting at vaccination sites by screening citizens before they receive their shot.
Driskell is from Platte County and her vaccination team recently assisted the Platte County Health Department in Riverside. She says some people even recognized her. “It’s nice to see familiar faces...some people even said, ‘I didn’t know you were in the Guard’.”
Driskell has been in the Guard for seven years and says it’s exciting to give back to her community.
