DETROIT ARSENAL, Mich. — Douglas Bush, Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, presided over the Relinquishment of Leadership ceremony for the Program Executive Officer for Combat Support and Combat Service Support of Timothy Goddette at the Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, May 4.

Goddette assumed his role at PEO CS&CSS in early 2018. As the PEO, he provided executive management for the development, systems integration, acquisition, testing, fielding, sustainment, and modernization for many of the systems across the Army’s Transportation, Quartermaster, Ordnance, and Engineering platforms.

“[Tim]has personally and consistently demonstrated an unsurpassed devotion to meeting the needs of our warfighters around the clock and around the world,” said Bush.

After leaving the Detroit area, Goddette will move on to assume the role of Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition Policy and Logistics at the Pentagon.

In his farewell speech, Goddette thanked his partners across the arsenal for their efforts in networking on both a personal and professional level.

“It’s not something you should take for granted, it’s something that when people come together, it’s that type of cooperation and spirit to work together it makes all the difference in the world,” Goddette said.

During the ceremony, the National Infantry Association inducted Goddette into the Order of St. Maurice, which is presented to civilians who have given a high level of support to the Infantry of the U.S. Army.
To be inducted into the order a nominee must: have served the Infantry community with distinction, have demonstrated a significant contribution in support of the Infantry, must represent the highest standards of integrity, moral character, professional competence, and dedication to duty.

The induction into the order was performed by Col. William Venable, Project Manager-Stryker Brigade Combat Team Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems.

Col. Steven Carozza, military deputy executive director of the Integrated Logistics Support Center U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, inducted Goddette into the U.S. Ordnance Corps Association’s Order of Samuel Sharpe and presented his wife, Sarah, with the Association’s “Keeper of the Flame” Award.

The final presentation made to Goddette was the Superior Civilian Service Medal by Mr. Bush.

Andrew Dimarco is the Acting Program Executive Officer for CS&CSS until the Army names a new PEO.
