PHOENIX, Ariz. — Three members of the 161st Air Refueling Wing were given makeovers by local television station KTVK and Rolf's Salon. Air Force Master Sgt. Jacqueline Keilbach, Tech Sgt. Danielle Santos, and Staff Sgt. Sandra Osborne were given professional haircuts by the salon. All three sargents recently retured from an overseas deployment.
"It was so nice to be pampered for once," said Keilback. "When you're deployed, your hair isn't the first thing on your mind."
Osborn told the salon that she had waist-length hair before her deployment, and cut it during deployment with scissors by herself. The Rolf stylist updated her hairstyle by giving her a shoulder-length cut with bangs. Upon seeing her new hairstyle, Osborn's jaw dropped and she exclaimed, "I love it!"
Allison Przywojski, the marketing specialist for Rolf's Salon, said that the salon was proud to make over the female Airmen.
"They are more than just a pretty face; each woman embodies the spirit and message of what Rolf's likes to call 'Intelligent Beauty' — encouraging us to have gratitude and appreciation for the beautiful and precious things we have around us," she said.
Rolf Lohse, salon owner, and his two stylists, Cameron Wilson and Zoey Ridley, gave the ladies "updated looks with graduated bobs and voluminous layers," added Przywojski. Makeup artist Tia Lucchesi was also on hand to give the females a fresh look.
"It was very much an honor to make over our heroes," said Lohse. "I felt very humbled just being in their presence."
"It was so much fun," said Santos. "The stylists did such a great job, and I'm so grateful for being selected."
"They were so professional, quick and efficent," added Osborn. "I just wish I could bring them all home with me so that my hair will look like this everyday!"
The Airmen recently returned from a deployment at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. This deployment was in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. Over 90 Airmen were called for this particular deployment.
