Jordan- On May 6, 2021 the 192nd Military Police Detachment, held their
patching ceremony at the Joint Training Center (JTC) Auditorium. The 192nd MP Detachment, which now falls under the 143rd Area Support Group, were presented with the approved wartime service shoulder sleeve insignia of the 43rd Infantry Division.
The patch has a well celebrated history dating back to the Second World War, where the 43rd ID served in the Pacific Campaign. The four lobes of the quatrefoil represent the four states of which the original unit was
composed, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The red indicates the states, which were originally English Colonies, and the grape leaf signifies that the New England country was the Vineland of the Norsemen, whose history goes back to the year 1000.
Col Dennis presented the 192nd MP Detachment with their Combat Patches. For some Soldiers within the Detachment, this was their first time wearing a patch on their right sleeve, and for others this was their second, third, or forth time receiving a patch. In order to be eligible for the combat patch, Soldiers must be serving in a theater which has been designated-combat zone or serving during a war period as declared by Congress.
The 192nd Military Police Detachment will continue to serve in the Middle
East until they return to their home state of Nebraska toward the end of 2021.
